In an upcoming international friendly match scheduled for October 13, the Super Eagles of Nigeria will face off against the Green Falcons of Saudi Arabia.

This encounter marks the first time the Super Eagles will compete against the Saudi national team in senior international football.

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) confirmed this match’s location as Portugal, with the Estadio Municipal de Portimão, the home ground of Portimonense S.C., being the chosen venue.

This stadium boasts a capacity of nearly 10,000 spectators and will witness the historic meeting between these two nations.

This friendly match comes following the NFF’s inability to secure an opponent for the September international break.

It is viewed as a valuable preparation game as Nigeria gears up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, scheduled to commence in November.

The 2026 World Cup will feature nine African nations in an extended 64-team format, and the possibility of an extra slot for the best of four runners-up through an inter-confederation playoff.

Nigeria has been placed in Group C for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, alongside South Africa, Benin Republic, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, and Lesotho.
