The National Association of Nigerian Students – Joint Campus Committee (NANS JCC), Ondo State chapter has begged the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to resolve their dispute in the interest of the students.
It said the incessant strike action was having a toll on the academic pursuit of students in the public tertiary institutions.
The student body said students were made to suffer the consequences of strikes embarked upon by ASUU.
Chairman, NANS JCC, Comrade Surprise Omotoso, who spoke in Akure, said it was sardonic that the government and ASUU were playing cat and mouse games and putting students at risk.
He said: “A student that is supposed to spend four years in the university now ends up spending six to seven years. Even after wasting time on students, there is no guarantee that they will get a job.
