Stalemate at Old Trafford as Manchester Derby Ends in Frustrating Draw

Manchester City and Manchester United played out a dull 0-0 draw in Sunday’s derby at Old Trafford, leaving City’s Champions League hopes uncertain and United’s struggles continuing.
United had the better chances but failed to secure a first league double over City since 2019/20. The result keeps City fifth, just two points ahead of Newcastle, who have two games in hand. United climb to 13th, with Champions League hopes hinging on a Europa League win.
The lackluster match reflected a poor season for both teams, with City’s once-dominant form fading and United enduring one of their worst Premier League campaigns.
Phil Foden missed City’s best chance early in the second half, while United threatened through counter-attacks and late efforts from Zirkzee and Mount. The draw extends both teams’ woes in a season that’s falling short of expectations.
