Soludo Declares Free Mandatory Education in Anambra Public Schools
Soludo made this declaration on Thursday at Premier Primary School in Obosi, near Onitsha.
Chukwuma Soludo, the Governor of Anambra State, has unveiled a policy of free and obligatory basic education in public schools throughout the state.
Soludo made this declaration on Thursday at Premier Primary School in Obosi, near Onitsha.
He emphasized that education, starting from early childhood care up to Junior Secondary Schools, is now both free and mandatory for school-age children in the state.
He stated, “Starting this academic term, for as long as I serve as the governor of Anambra, in government-owned and operated public schools, children from nursery to primary 6 and from JSS 1 to JSS 3 will not be required, under any circumstances, to pay any fees.”
The announcement was met with cheers from the students and staff of the school.
