Shomat-Gulf Ventures commends Gov Abdulrazaq for Reappointing Shade Omoniyi as KWIRS Chief

Shomat Gulf-Ventures, a financial management and revenue consultancy firm, has extended its congratulations to Mrs. Shade Omoniyi on her reappointment as the Executive Chairman of KWIRS (Kwara State Internal Revenue Service).

In a statement released on October 6th, 2023, from Abuja, the Managing Consultant of the company, Otunba (Amb.) AI, Gegele, a seasoned professional with diverse expertise in information technology, consultancy, banking, and accounting, commended this decision.

Gegele, a renowned tax practitioner and former Nigeria Youth Ambassador to China, expressed that the reappointment of Omoniyi by the Kwara State Executive Governor for another four-year term comes as no surprise, given her remarkable track record, achievements, and extensive experience.

He said, “Having an engineering background, Mrs. Shade Omoniyi appeared as an unconventional choice for leading the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service. However, during her two years of dedicated service to the state, she has emerged as a trailblazer, becoming not only the first female to hold this position but arguably the sole female executive chairman of an IRS in the country.

Remarkably, she has exceeded all expectations by introducing innovative initiatives that have significantly increased state revenue and effectively curbed revenue losses.”

Additionally, Gegele, a technocrat himself, praised the Governor’s choice, emphasizing that Omoniyi is exceptionally well-suited for the role.
