Shettima Urges Lawmakers to Embrace Responsibility in Strengthening Nigeria

Vice President Kashim Shettimma, in an address to lawmakers at an Akwa Ibom retreat, emphasized the responsibility they hold in shaping Nigeria’s future.

He highlighted that they are fortunate to be in their positions but not inherently superior to fellow citizens.

Shettimma pointed out a personal example of a high-achieving classmate who now works in a modest position, underscoring that their roles aren’t solely due to exceptional talent.

Shettimma stressed that Nigeria plays a vital role in global affairs and carries the responsibility of representing the interests of the entire black community.

He urged lawmakers to work diligently for the betterment of Nigeria, emphasizing the potential repercussions for the broader black race if Nigeria were to fail.

Furthermore, the Vice President encouraged legislators to exercise prudence and humility in using their authority, recognizing that power is a temporary privilege granted by the people and should be employed for their benefit.
