Sheffield United Relegated From Premier League After Newcastle’s defeat

Sheffield United has been relegated from the Premier League after losing 5-1 to Newcastle on Saturday. With only three games left, they are 10 points from safety, making this their 25th league loss of the season.
The team, which won promotion a year ago, will return to the Championship. Anel Ahmedhodzic scored early for Sheffield United, but Newcastle responded with five goals, including two from Alexander Isak and an own goal by Ben Osborn.
This was Sheffield United’s fourth straight defeat, extending their winless streak to 11 games. With 97 goals conceded in 35 matches, they set a new record for the most goals allowed in a 38-game Premier League season. Coach Chris Wilder acknowledged that the team wasn’t good enough to compete at this level.
Despite a dismal season, Sheffield United managed to avoid setting the record for the lowest points total in Premier League history, which stands at 11, set by Derby in 2007/08.
