Shaibu missing as INEC displays governorship candidates list in Edo
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Edo has unveiled the list of gubernatorial candidates from 17 political parties for the upcoming September 21st election.
Led by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Anugbum Onuoha, INEC displayed the list at its offices across the 18 local government areas.
Notable candidates include Mr. Uwaifo Osaro of Action Alliance (AA), Ighodalo Asuerinme of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Okpebholo Monday of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
INEC also announced plans to publish the personal details and credentials of all candidates, urging Nigerians to scrutinize the information provided.
Legal action can be taken against candidates believed to have submitted false information, in accordance with the Electoral Act 2022.
