Mallam Muktar Tolani Shagaya, (member-elect, Asa/Ilorin West Constituency) commiserates with the Pakata Community and the bereaved family on the passing of the Alangua Ubandawaki, Ahlaji Abdulgafar Baba Mahmud.
Shagaya remarked, in a condolence message issued through his office, “The late Alangua was more than just a traditional ruler, but indeed a true unifier and one who will be remembered fondly for his significant role in the overseeing of the affairs of the Ubandawaki community and beyond.”
“Baba was a man of great eminence and a key factor in the unity and cooperation that prevailed among his people and neighboring communities. His welcoming spirit , fatherly counsel and candor especially during our campaign visits to traditional leaders was one that cannot be overlooked.”
“A man of peace, profound knowledge and immense wisdom, his contributions to inter-community harmony were noteworthy and many people benefited greatly There is no doubt that his passing will be deeply felt by the people of Uabndawaki and Ilorin at large.” Shagaya said.
He prayed to God to grant the bereaved family, the Emir of Ilorin and the Ubandawaki community strength during this time, and for God to reward Alhaji Mahmud’s uncommon services to man and his Creator with Aljanat Firdaus.
