Senator Mustapha Urges Extensive Consultation on State Police

Senator Saliu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central, has advocated for broader consultations on the potential introduction of state police in Nigeria.
Speaking at a distinguished personality lecture series organized by the University of Ilorin’s Political Science department in collaboration with the Institute of Legislative Studies, Mustapha emphasized the importance of thorough consultations to reach a well-informed decision on state policing.
Mustapha pledged his support to whichever group presents the most compelling arguments regarding the desirability of a state police system.
He encouraged Nigerians to remain proactive in advocating for state police as a solution to the country’s numerous security challenges.
As the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Food Production, Mustapha also urged other universities to emulate the University of Ilorin by organizing public lectures on critical issues like state policing.
He assured that the National Assembly is already addressing the matter and will ultimately provide the best outcome for the nation.
