Senate summons CBN Gov, Cardoso over ‘free fall of naira’
Following a record low of $1 to N1,520 at the parallel market on Wednesday, Adetokunbo Abiru, the committee’s chairman, expressed worries about inflation.


The Senate committee on banking, insurance, and financial institutions has called upon Olayemi Cardoso, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, to address concerns about the significant decline of the naira.
Following a record low of $1 to N1,520 at the parallel market on Wednesday, Adetokunbo Abiru, the committee’s chairman, expressed worries about inflation.
Abiru announced that the CBN governor is expected to provide insights on the economy during a session scheduled for next Tuesday at 3 p.m., following a committee meeting focused on the nation’s economic direction.
