S’Court Upholds Hyacinth Alia’s Benue Governorship Victory, Rejects PDP Appeal
The judgment, delivered by Justice John Okoro, affirmed the decisions of the election tribunal and the court of appeal in Abuja.
The Supreme Court has upheld the victory of Governor Hyacinth Alia in the Benue gubernatorial election, dismissing the appeal by the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Titus Uba.
The judgment, delivered by Justice John Okoro, affirmed the decisions of the election tribunal and the court of appeal in Abuja.
Despite the PDP’s discontent, Alia, a Catholic priest and APC candidate, secured his win with 473,933 votes, surpassing Titus Uba’s 223,914 votes, as declared by INEC Returning Officer Prof. Faruk Kuta.
