Baba Idris, a prominent follower of the immediate past Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, on Monday hosted youth from across Kwara North Senatorial district to iftar dinner at his private Ilorin residence.
Baba Idris, who is from Patigi local government Area, said he organized the Iftar to bring together young minds from all political divides in Kwara North Senatorial district including the Chairman of Coalition of Kwara North, Com. Idris Buko, Abubakar Sadiq Buhari SA Media to Hon. Ahmed Ndakene, Member representing Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency, Com. Nurudeen Muhammed, member Kwara PDP Reconciliation and Engagement Committee, Aliu Zubair Rogun Coordinator Kwara North APC Youth Movement, AbdulMumeen Lade Yinusa, SA New media to speaker Kwara state House of Assembly and others, irrespective of their political affiliation.
“Politics shouldn’t define who we are and should not be an instrument of division among us as brothers,” he said.
The special iftar session had in attendance, the Speaker, Kwara state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, who surprisingly made it to the venue to show love for fellow Kwara Northerner. Also in attandance was the a member of the Kwara state house of assembly, representing Patigi state constituency in 9th Assembly, Hon Ahmed Rufai Saidu and youth stakeholders from the five local government areas in Kwara North.
Also in attendance, were friends of the host from Kwara Central Senatorial District including a member of Kwara PDP Reconciliation and Engagement Committee, Abdulrahman Abdullahi GreatKay, the Press Officer on Home Matters to the former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, Mallam Abdulqadir Abdulganiyu.
Others were vibrant PDP youths, like Lawal Sarafadeen Arab, Onilemarun AbdulKareem and Ibrahim Olushola.
The coalition Chairman, Com. Buko, expressed his pleasure for bringing vibrant youths from the five local government areas of the district together for the special iftar and prayed Almighty Allah accept it as an act of Ibadah.
Buko went further by commending the Speaker Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Yakubu Danladi for taking time to attend the event despite his tight schedule. It is an honour identifying with us, your generation, and a mark of respect for the host.
The host, Baba Idris, who appreciated by the youths from the district for honouring his invitation, also reiterated that politics should not divide the youth but further unite them for social, economic and community developments.
In his remarks, the speaker, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi Solihu, said the welfare of Kwara North is the priority of every son and daughter of the region irrespective of party affiliation and side of the divide to which anyone belongs.
Hon Danladi further tasked the youth on the need to have friendly relationship to further deepen the bond between sons and daughters of the region to better advance the district.
