Saraki to head PDP Reconciliation committee

Former Senate president Bukola Saraki is set to be appointed as the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Reconciliation Committee, as per resolutions reached at the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, according to sources from Daily Sun.
The PDP NEC, in its meeting, resolved to establish a Committee aimed at reconciling disgruntled members. Additionally, following the NEC meeting, there were indications that Emmanuel Agbo, a former deputy national secretary of the party, is slated to replace CID Maduabum as director general of the PDP Governors’ Forum.
Agbo, along with five others, had expressed interest in succeeding Iyorchia Ayu as national chairman of the party. However, the NEC postponed discussions on Ayu’s replacement until August.
Sources suggest that Agbo’s appointment as DG of the PDP Governors Forum is part of efforts to appease the North Central region, which had previously insisted on producing the national chairman.
