Sanwo-Olu reveals plan to establish Lagos airline

The Lagos State government is actively considering the establishment of its own airline, as revealed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu during a town hall meeting in the Lagos West senatorial district.

The governor disclosed that this plan, in the works for months, is now in the final stages of determining the financing model. Gboyega Akosile, the chief press secretary, released a statement confirming these developments.

Sanwo-Olu also mentioned the imminent groundbreaking for the construction of an airport in Lekki, emphasizing that the operational contingency of the airline and approval from the federal government are currently under consideration.

He stressed the importance of public involvement in the decision-making process for planned programs and interventions before implementation.

The governor assured that his administration has been working on a concise plan for the airline’s establishment over the last five months.

Despite keeping the plan discreet to gather adequate knowledge about airline operational procedures, he stated that the business plan is viable, with no financing issues.

Sanwo-Olu highlighted the completed infrastructure projects in the state, including roads and bridges, and pledged to intensify efforts for sustainable growth.

In particular, he mentioned completed projects like the Pen-Cinema bridge, Ikeja flyover, and numerous roads in Alimosho, Ifako, Agege, Ikeja, Mushin, Amuwo Odofin, and Badagry.

I’m Ongoing road projects within the Lagos West senatorial district were also noted, with a commitment to increasing efforts on various projects and activities to accelerate the city’s development in his second term.
