Sanusi weeps as he pays tribute to Herbert Wigwe
During a night of tribute to the late Wigwe, Sanusi expressed his deep gratitude and admiration for his unwavering support.


Former Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, became emotional on Wednesday as he paid tribute to Herbert Wigwe, the former Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings Plc.
During a night of tribute to the late Wigwe, Sanusi expressed his deep gratitude and admiration for his unwavering support.
He recalled how Wigwe stood by him during his challenging times after being removed as Emir of Kano by former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
Sanusi recounted how Wigwe assured him of his loyalty and support, providing practical assistance such as arranging a plane to convey him to Lagos when he needed to leave Kano urgently.
He credited Wigwe and his partner Aig Imoukhuede for their crucial support during his tenure as the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, highlighting their contributions to resolving challenges in the banking sector and linking banking sector assets to the real economy.
Additionally, Sanusi entrusted Wigwe with overseeing a trust fund for the education of his children, emphasizing his trust in Wigwe’s commitment to ensuring his children’s future education, even in his absence.
