Comr. Saleeman Yusuf Issah (Last Born) was in Early hours of Wednesday, The 9th day of June, Inaugurated as the New Chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Kwara State Axis, The inauguration ceremony also Featured launching of the 4th Edition of ACME Magazine, and took place at banquet Hall, Ilorin, Kwara State, with members of NANS, Student Union Leaders, Politicians and Other Notable Dignataries in Kwara State gracing the event.
Comr. LastBorn was Inaugurated alongside with others Newly Elected Executives which include ; Adewole Waris Ademola – (Vice chairman)admin, Abdulmajeed opeyemi Agboola – (VC Academic), Abdullateef lateefat – (VC special duty), Yusuf Mutiu Olaitan -(PRO 1), Abdulhakeem Kamorudeen – (Gen Sec), Omotosho Sofiu Femi – (Social director), Hamed Lawal Olodan -(Welfare secretary), Anifowoshe Taofeeq O. -(Fin Sec), Abdulmumeen Suleiman A. – (Sports secretary), Abdullahi Alaaya – (Director Action and Mobilization), Yusuf Ahmad Dolapo – (Welfare 2), Arowosaye Qudus – PRO 2, ibrahim Lutfat – (Director of Gender), Abdulgafar Yusuf – (Asst. Gen sec), Samuel Christopher – (Ex officio).
While Speaking at the Event, The immediate Past NANS Kwara Chairman, Comr Wasiu Onidugbe (Wizkiu) expressed his Profound appreciation to the Kwara state government for Prioritizing the sense of humility to the Students Constituency in the State.
He also appreciated Dist. Sen. Khairat Gwadabe-Abdulrazaq, Chairman of BUA Group, Alh. Abdulsamad Rabiu, Hajia Sa’adat Modibbo Kawu and Hajia Abdulraheem Afusat for the love and support availed to his led-Administration.
He Said, “Despite the coronavirus challenges, we have rebranded and set the association on the path of prosperity, sustainable growth and progress. We have developed Rebranded Action Plan, which served as a collaborative process for the leadership of NANS Kwara to establish a unified vision for the association’s development actions. The rebranding the previous path mantra has offered the administration the opportunity to develop projects and programs into an effective, coordinated set of strategies that addressed most of the needs and problems of students by formulating and implementating student-oriented policies, programs and projects which assisted in rekindling the hope of the government, management and the community on the student union leadership. Few among the achievements include; Campus tour, access to Effective Communication, Capacity Building, Student’s Reform, Students Welfare and Others.
Conclusively, Wizkiu Appreciated his Executive for their hard work and the sacrifices they have made in making NANS better, Charged the newly inaugurated member on effective leadership.
In his part, The newly NANS Kwara Chairman, Comrade Saleeman Yusuf Issah said his aspiration was borne out of the zeal to improve and make striking changes in the existing condition of NANS Kwara.
He Said, “NANS, under my leadership, has come up with the fourth edition of NANS Kwara “ACME” Magazine tagged “The Uncommon Liberator” which will be officially launched today in honour of our progressive leader, His Excellency, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq – the Executive Governor of Kwara state. Unambiguously, the magazine featured articles from Nigerian Students across various institutions that form NANS Kwara Axis and it contained a wealth of information, inspiration and creative ideas to the readers.”
“As a consequence of the significance of entrepreneurship in creating wealth and improving individuals’ standard of living, the leadership of NANS, under my watch, will collaborate with the state government through the Ministry of Enterprise as well as the SSA Youth Engagement to organize skills acquisition training at AGF Abdulrazaq Entrepreneurship Hub, specifically for the entire Nigerian students who chose Kwara state as their center of learning. This worthwhile idea was borne out of the zeal to develop human potential of our fellow students by equipping them with the required skills inorder for them to be financially independent.”
“Today marks the first step in our journey towards achieving the Ultra Reformation Agenda. As the Chairman of NANS Kwara, I promise to turn the expectations of the teeming student population into reality. As a matter of utmost priority, I promise to discharge my duties as spelt out in the constitution of our organization and uphold the prestige of NANS.” He Added.
Meanwhile, The Association has set set up a five – Men working committee which comprises Professor Amuda Kannike, SAN, as the Chairman and Mr. Lawal O. Olohungbebe as the Secretary In an attempt to ease the financial burden of Kwara students, and would be channeled towards helping students with health challenges as well as those with financial difficulties ranging from inability to make school fees payment as at when due, and all other financially related hiccups facing Students during their academic sojourn.
The official date for the commencement of their operation is hereby pronounced to be Wednesday, 9th of June, 2021.
