Bukayo Saka will not be available for England’s upcoming matches against Australia and Italy in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.
The English Football Association announced on Monday that Saka, the 22-year-old Arsenal winger, has been ruled out due to a hamstring issue that caused him to miss Sunday’s 1-0 victory against Manchester City.
Despite being included in the initial 26-man squad by Gareth Southgate, Saka’s injury has led to his withdrawal from the national team camp.
He will continue his rehabilitation with his club, Arsenal. No replacements are being called up, leaving Southgate with a squad of 25 players for the upcoming fixtures.
England is scheduled to play a friendly against Australia at Wembley on Friday and then take on Italy in a Euro 2024 qualifier on October 17th at the national stadium.
