Reps Pay Tribute to Late Afrobeats Star Mohbad, Vow to Oversee Investigation
The lower chamber held a moment of silence in his memory as they convened in Abuja for their plenary session.

In a session held on Tuesday, the House of Representatives paid tribute to the late Afrobeats artist Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, who passed away at the age of 27 two weeks ago.
The lower chamber held a moment of silence in his memory as they convened in Abuja for their plenary session.
During the session, Mr. Babajimi Benson, the representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, presented an urgent motion.
As a result, the House made a commitment to closely monitor the ongoing investigation into Mohbad’s death and the royalties owed to him.
Benson also emphasized the need to review the laws governing the entertainment industry and copyright regulations.
He expressed concerns about the contractual agreements imposed on entertainers, calling for greater scrutiny in this regard.
