During a brief interview with Hollywood Reporter at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards in New Jersey, USA, Rema, who is 23 and originally from Benin, shared his intention to collaborate with more female celebrities.
He stated, “I’m hoping to connect with Meg (Thee Stallion) and Nicki Minaj for potential collaborations. Who else? Yeah, I want to collaborate with female artists.”
In a notable achievement, Rema was awarded the inaugural “Best Afrobeats Song” at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, surpassing artists like Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.
Selena Gomez, who collaborated with Rema on his hit ‘Calm Down,’ conveyed her congratulations to Nigeria upon his win.
