The Muktar Shagaya Youth Forum (MSYF) organized Qur’an and Fiqh competition on the 2nd of April, 2023, held at Muktar Shagaya Campaign Headquarters, New Yidi Road, Ilorin, Kwara State.

The competition was designed for Arabic and Islamic Schools Students noting which attracted participants from the 2 Local Council Areas across the constituency jostling for prizes in 3 categories in honour of the member-elect, Asa/Ilorin West Constituency, Mallam Muktar Tolani Shagaya.

While addressing the journalists, Mr. Ameen Mustapha said: “The competition is uniquely packaged in that it will feature two prominent Islamic scholars who will deliver soul-lifting lectures to the audience. Over 50 participants were in attendance from various Islamic schools in Ilorin who showed and enlivened the hearts of audience with their sound understanding in reciting the Holy Qur’an.

The interests of our children are germane to us especially those that have to do with Islamic morals and societal ills among Muslim children of school age and young adults and other vices that pervade our country. We believe as they are exposed to religious teachings and morals early in life, the impact of such exposure will be felt in the home, society and in governance”.

In his speech, Mr. Ayinla Abdulwahab reiterated that, apart from the spiritual benefits of the competition, it was also a platform for the unification of Muslims. The contest served as a reminder for Muslims to not only seek knowledge of the Qur’an but to also take heed of the guidance and exhortations contained within it.

Several high ranks personnels graced the event amongst which was the chairman of Salman Shagaya Foundation, Alhaji Sheriff Shagaya who added more spices to the event with his philanthropic contributions.
