The Winner of Miss Africulture 2022, Queen Halima Usman Moremi through her foundation, Queen Avee Foundation, held an awareness campaign for students in Kwara State on HIV/AIDS.
The event which was sponsored by Kwara First Lady, Ambassador Olufolake Abdulrazaq featured Free Health Consultation, Free Health check up (Blood Pressure Check, Eye Examination, Glucose Level Check), Free HIV Test, Distribution of Free Drugs and Free Condoms.
Speaking at the event held yesterday at Hall 2, Kwara State College Education, Ilorin, The Founder of Queen Avee Foundation, Queen Halima Usman Moremi explained that the event is organized In commemoration of the 2021 World AIDS Day.
She noted that; “HIV/AIDS account for a global death of about.48.6million and our dear state is not exempted Over 43.8million is invected globally with Kwara invection stand at 1.4% prevalent rate.
“It is against this backdrop that it is pertinent to ensure that adequate awareness, testing and management of invected persons is made a priority of this project to commemorate with world HIV day.
Speaking further, The Winner of Miss Africulture 2022 expressed her profound appreciation to the Kwara First Lady and KWASACA (Kwara State Agency for Control of AIDS) for their support in making the program a success.
She however urged the member of the general public to present themselves for HIV testing so as to make the world safer and healthier.
The Director of Dr Alabere Medical service, Ilorin, Dr Mubarak Jimoh and the Deputy Director for Innovation and incubation centre for research and development KWCOED, Ilorin, Dr Bello Zakariyau Adebayo in their separate lectures, enlightened students on HIV&AIDS in order to ensure they are HIV Free.
