Property worth millions destroyed as fire guts Shops in Adeta

Property worth millions of naira was destroyed in a fire incident at Adeta Roundabout, Ilorin, Kwara State on Saturday.

SHO PEN ONLINE Learnt that the inferno that started around midnight was said to have caused significant destruction, left a trail of devastation, consuming properties valued in the millions.

The properties was said to belongs to the family of Late Alhaji Ayinla Saraki , the father of Alhaji Ope Saraki,the House of Representatives Candidate of the NNPP (Ilorin-West/ Asa Federal Constituency) in the 2023 General Elections.

The affected properties including five lock up shops, were completely burnt, resulting in immense financial losses.

An eyewitness reported that the five shops, particularly engulfed quickly, making it challenging to control the blaze.

The exact cause of the fire is still unknown, but preliminary reports suggest it could be due to an electrical fault or the accidental ignition of combustible materials.

However, Firefighters and emergency responders quickly rushed down to stop the fire burning.

Also, One of the shop’s occupants, Mr. Ola Money, lamented how much he invested in the shop. “I feel sober and devastated with this sad incident that happened to me and particularly, the much money I invest in the goods, solar power and other items, he said.

Similarly, Mrs, Islamiyat, the another occupant of the shops expressed sadness and hopelessness when she met her goods worth millions of Naira burnt. “I feel sad and hopeless seeing my goods burnt without recovering a penny”, she lamented.

They however expressed gratitude to the Kwara Fire Service for prompt response and also called for the Kwara State Government, NGO’s and well meaning individuals to come to their aid.
