PRNigeria Opens New Centre in Ilorin, Launches Young Communication Fellowship

PRNigeria has officially opened its new Centre in Ilorin, Kwara State, marking a significant milestone in its mission to mentor and empower the next generation of communicators.
The unveiling, which took place alongside the inauguration of the second batch of the Young Communication Fellowship, attracted praise from key government figures.
The Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, represented by the Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Bolanle Olukoju, lauded the initiative, emphasizing its importance in equipping young minds with essential skills in the ever-evolving communication sector.
He stressed that the new Centre would play a vital role in preparing future professionals for the challenges of digital media, public relations, and strategic communication.
“I’m proud to see this initiative come to life, offering young talents the opportunity to become the future storytellers and strategists who will shape the narrative of their communities,” the governor said.
He urged participants to seize the opportunity and embrace integrity and creativity as they grow in their careers.
Mallam Idris Mohammed Malagi, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, also praised the new PRNigeria Centre.
Represented by the Director General of the Voice of Nigeria, Mallam Jibrin Ndace, the minister expressed confidence that the facility would serve as a beacon of hope for young Nigerians looking to thrive in the communication industry.
He further encouraged fellows to embrace new technologies to stay ahead in the fast-paced world of media.
The Director General of NITDA, Mr. Kashifu Inuwa, in a keynote address delivered by Dr. Falilat Olaitan Jimoh, the Head of Innovation and Digital Inclusion for the South-West Zone, noted the importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in modern communication. He explained how the technology is reshaping industries, especially in managing the complexities of social media and the 24/7 news cycle.
Earlier in his welcome address, Mallam Yushau Shuaib, Chief Executive Officer of Image Merchant Promotions, emphasized PRNigeria’s commitment to youth development through training and mentorship.
He highlighted the organization’s accomplishments in empowering over 1,387 young Nigerians with vital digital skills and fostering growth in digital journalism and public relations.
The new PRNigeria Centre in Ilorin symbolizes a major leap forward in the organization’s ongoing efforts to foster talent, innovation, and growth among Nigeria’s youth in the communication field.
Shuaib thanked the Kwara State government and Ilorin Emirate for their unwavering support in making the Centre a reality.
