Portugal Win Second Nations League Title After Penalty Shootout Victory Over Spain

Portugal defeated Spain 5-3 on penalties to clinch their second UEFA Nations League title on Sunday night in Munich.
The thrilling final ended 2-2 after extra time, with Spain twice taking the lead through Martin Zubimendi and Mikel Oyarzabal, while Nuno Mendes and Cristiano Ronaldo responded for Portugal.
Ronaldo’s goal — his 138th for Portugal — forced the shootout, where Diego Costa saved Alvaro Morata’s effort before Ruben Neves converted the winning kick.
With this win, Portugal, the inaugural 2019 champions, become the first nation to win the competition twice, and it marks their first victory over Spain in 15 years.
