Portable’s Sister Claims Singer’s Misconduct is Due to Spiritual Attack by Family Member

Gbemisola, the elder sister of controversial singer Portable, has defended him amid his ongoing legal battle with the Ogun State government, attributing his recent behavior to a spiritual spell allegedly cast by a family member.

Portable’s troubles began when he reportedly assaulted officials from the state’s Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development. The officials had attempted to seal his bar, Odogwu, due to a lack of proper permits and inadequate air space. The confrontation led to the arrest and arraignment of nine of Portable’s associates on charges including armed violence, felony, obstruction, assault, and intent to kill. They were granted bail set at ₦5 million each, with sureties required to be licensed bond agents registered with the state government. The case has been adjourned until March 17 for further proceedings.

Amid the controversy, a man identified as Akeem, who claims to be Portable’s relative, released a video criticizing the singer. In the footage, Akeem accused Portable of abandoning his family despite his success and alleged that he lost his job as a driver because of the singer’s actions.

“Portable, you will not escape this. You keep saying you need help because you take care of your family. Which family have you helped?” Akeem said. “Because of you, I got sacked as a driver. Dapo Abiodun will order the demolition of your bar; you will not escape.”

In response, Portable’s sister dismissed Akeem’s allegations as false, insisting that the singer has been a strong pillar of support for their family. She recounted how he has provided financial assistance and even helped her through a serious illness.

“Good day, Nigerians. I am Portable’s elder sister, the first child of our mother. We are just three siblings,” she said. “Portable has always supported the family. He works hard and has never stolen from anyone. When we were struggling, nobody helped us, but when Portable became successful, he took care of us.”

She further alleged that Akeem is responsible for Portable’s erratic behavior, claiming he has been using spiritual means to influence the singer negatively.

“Habeeb [Portable] is the reason I am still alive today. He even gives Akeem money, yet Akeem is the one casting spells on him. He is spiritually manipulating Portable to misbehave and offend Nigerians,” she added.

The situation continues to unfold as the legal case against Portable and his associates progresses.
