Police restrict movement for Kwara LG Elections

As Kwara State prepares for its local government elections scheduled for Saturday, September 21, 2024, the Kwara State Police Command has announced a restriction on vehicular movement.
In a statement issued on Friday by DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, the Police Public Relations Officer, the command outlined that the restriction will be enforced from 12:00 AM to 6:00 PM on election day.
This decision is aimed at ensuring the security and smooth running of the electoral process. Exceptions will be granted to individuals involved in essential services, accredited electoral officers, authorized media personnel, election observers, and emergency responders. Armed security officers assigned to VIPs are prohibited from accompanying their principals to polling stations.
Residents are urged to comply with the directive, with the warning that violators will face strict legal consequences.
