PHOTOS: Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno Officially Defects to APC from PDP
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in a grand ceremony held at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Saturday, June 21, 2025.
Present at the event were the representative of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima,Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma; Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Idris Muhammad Gobir (far right); Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori; APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa and Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru.
The event marked a major political shift in the South-South region, drawing top APC stakeholders and supporters across the country.
