Philip Shaibu, the Deputy Governor of Edo State, has emerged victorious in the parallel governorship primary election conducted by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Bartholomew Moses, serving as the returning officer, declared Shaibu as the winner, noting his victory with a margin of over 300 votes.
Allegedly, some party delegates were denied entry at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium and subsequently relocated to Shaibu’s residence for the election.
Concurrently, the primary recognized by the PDP national working committee (NWC) is still underway at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
