Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, has revealed that the fuel subsidy was costing the country N400 billion monthly.

Months later, Edun emphasized in an exclusive interview with Channels Television that the subsidy was draining N400 billion monthly from the government’s resources.
“In terms of the government’s financial situation, significant improvements have been made,” he stated. “The removal of the petroleum subsidy, which previously incurred a monthly cost of N400 billion, has played a pivotal role.”
