Kenneth Okonkwo, the Spokesperson for the Labour Party’s presidential campaign in the 2023 general election, has left the party.

Okonkwo cited the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and the internal crises as his reasons for leaving.

The filmmaker and politician also criticized the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), claiming that both parties are leading Nigeria to economic ruin.

In a Sunday letter, Okonkwo expressed that the APC has left citizens with no option but to protest for their survival, seeing no hope for the future.

He emphasized the need for a solid political party with a strong grassroots base to challenge what he described as “kakistocracy and kleptocrats.”

Okonkwo argued that a decisive leader, who is selfless and bold, is necessary to secure electoral victory and challenge the corrupt and incompetent leaders who resist free and fair elections.

Describing the judiciary as “electoral bandits,” Okonkwo called for a leader with integrity, charisma, and bravery to mobilize the people and sustain electoral victories.

He accused the judiciary of stealing the 2023 election and stated that the people must take their destiny into their hands.

Okonkwo criticized Peter Obi for not building a strong Labour Party and failing to address internal issues. He expressed disappointment in Obi’s leadership and inability to support Labour Unions fighting to protect the party’s soul.

Due to these issues, Okonkwo has decided to continue his political journey without Peter Obi, aiming for a vision of a greater Nigeria.
