Peter Obi hints at contesting 2027 presidential election
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, Obi expressed concerns about the Supreme Court’s decision upholding President Bola Tinubu’s victory, stating that it has adversely affected Nigerians’ trust in the judiciary.
Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, has suggested his intention to vie for the country’s top position in 2027.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, Obi expressed concerns about the Supreme Court’s decision upholding President Bola Tinubu’s victory, stating that it has adversely affected Nigerians’ trust in the judiciary.
Following the court’s dismissal of the petitions from Obi and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP challenging Tinubu’s win, the former Anambra governor emphasized the need for dedicated and forward-thinking leaders to guide Nigeria towards a more promising future.
Acknowledging the support received from patriotic Nigerians and their belief in the necessity of visionary leadership, Obi praised the energy and commitment of Nigerian youths and the Obedient movement.
He assured them that their journey was far from over and that they would persist in their pursuit of a new Nigeria, now positioning the Labour Party and the Obedient movement effectively in opposition and aiming to spread their message of hope across the nation.
