PDP has failed Rivers people – Fubara

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara criticized the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stating that the party had let down the people of the state during the ongoing political crisis.

Speaking during a meeting with a delegation from the Senate Committee on Privatisation and Commercialisation led by Senator Orji Uzo Kalu at Government House in Port Harcourt, Fubara emphasized that the state was now prioritizing truth over partisan interests.

He asserted that Rivers State would no longer be constrained by party affiliations but would assert its independence to uphold democracy.

Fubara expressed his stance: “Currently in our state, we’re focused on a movement rather than mere party politics.

The party has disappointed us here, so our commitment now lies in standing firmly on Rivers State’s soil to safeguard democracy.”

In April, 60 PDP lawmakers in the House of Representatives demanded the resignation of the party’s acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, accusing him of favoring Governor Nyesom Wike amid the crisis.

Senator Orji Uzo Kalu also pledged to engage with President Bola Tinubu and Governor Wike to help resolve the situation in Rivers State.
