On Wednesday, Daniel Bwala, a key figure in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), expressed his unwavering commitment to backing President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Following a closed-door meeting at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja, Bwala conveyed his dedication to supporting Tinubu, stating, “If supporting him requires joining the APC, so be it.”

Despite being a vocal critic of the APC and Tinubu’s government earlier in January, Bwala emphasized the necessity for opposition parties to unite in a formidable coalition to challenge the APC’s dominance in the 2027 general elections.

He predicted that without such collaboration, Tinubu would secure eight years in office.

Bwala applauded Tinubu’s decisive action in suspending the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu, showcasing approval for the President’s commitment to upholding accountability.

Additionally, he commended recent cost-cutting measures, including the 60% reduction in travel entourages, affirming that more steps to trim the cost of governance are underway.

Bwala’s support for Tinubu transcends political affiliations, emphasizing his focus on policy issues over party allegiance.
