The election, held on Saturday, was organized by the State Independent Electoral Commission (ESIEC) and encompassed Edo North, Edo Central, and Edo South senatorial districts.

Albert Eguaoje, the spokesperson for EDSIEC, announced that certificates of return would be presented to the winning candidates on Sunday.
