Palliatives not lasting solution to economic hardship – Bayelsa Gov

Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri emphasized during an Easter Sunday service at St. Peter’s Anglican Church that while palliatives are helpful, they aren’t a long-term solution to economic hardship.
Diri highlighted his administration’s focus on implementing lasting empowerment measures such as technical colleges, skills acquisition programs, and infrastructure development across the state.
He encouraged citizens to engage in entrepreneurship and take advantage of government initiatives for self-improvement.
Additionally, he urged people to draw lessons from biblical narratives to cultivate trust, honesty, and faithfulness for societal betterment.
Bishop Funkuro Amgbare underscored the significance of Jesus Christ’s resurrection, symbolizing salvation for Christians, in his sermon.
