Osimhen Grabs 9, Musa takes 7 as Super Eagles Unveil AFCON Squad’s Jersey Numbers

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has disclosed the jersey numbers for Nigeria’s 25-man Super Eagles squad in preparation for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Notably, Francis Uzoho claims the number 1 jersey, Victor Osimhen now wears number 9, and Captain Ahmed Musa retains the number 7 shirt. Alhassan Yusuf Abdullahi takes on the number 4 jersey, replacing the injured Wilfred Ndidi.

Among those keeping their jersey numbers from the last AFCON are Ola Aina, William Ekong, Joe Aribo, Kelechi Iheanacho, Moses Simon, and Kenneth Omeruo. Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface will sport jersey number 24.

The Super Eagles are gearing up for the tournament in Abu Dhabi, with their first match against Equatorial Guinea on January 14 in Abidjan.
