One dead, four injured in UNILORIN auto crash

One person has reportedly died, while four others sustained injuries in an auto crash that occurred at the University of Ilorin Campus.

The University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun, confirmed this in a statement issued on Thursday.

Akogun said the lone accident involved a conmercial bus conveying ten possengers going out of the camous.

He noted that as soon as the accident occurred, the University Management immediately commenced rescue operations, and all the victims were moved to the University Health Centre.

“They were attended to by a teom of medical personnel at the University Health Centre.
One of them needed advanced treatment and was referred to the University of Horin Teaching Hospital (UITH) afterhewosstabilised.
Four had minorinjuries, they were treated and discharged.

Five victims, consisting of two males, two females and the driver, are currently being Irected at the University Health Centre.

Unfortunately, one of the victims was brought in dead, the body has been transferred to the morgue, and the University management is making efforts to contact thenext or kin.

The Management regrets this unfortunate incident, condole with the family of the deceased, and prayed God to comfort the fomily while we pray for a quick recovery of the injured victims.”He said.
