Ogun To Begin Sale Of Rice To Residents At 50% Discount over Hardship

The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, announced plans to immediately sell rice at a 50% discount to alleviate the economic challenges faced by residents.
He emphasized that the initiative would start with civil servants to restore their purchasing power amidst inflation.
Speaking during a special Iftar event, he assured a sustainable approach through the formation of a committee to oversee the sales process.
Additionally, he pledged free rice distribution to the less privileged. Governor Abiodun urged Muslim faithful to maintain their spiritual practices beyond Ramadan and expressed optimism about the country’s economic outlook.
He also emphasized the importance of forgiveness and kindness during this period.
The governor’s commitment to community empowerment was praised by the League of Imams and Alfas, who also conferred him with the title of Ambassador of Peace in Islam and offered prayers for President Tinubu’s birthday.
