Ogun Govt Warns Portable Over Assault on Officials

The Ogun State Government has issued a stern warning to popular hip-hop artist Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, over his alleged habit of assaulting government officials without provocation.

Portable, known for his controversial public behavior since his rise to fame with the hit song *Zazuu Zeh*, has been involved in multiple altercations ranging from disputes with his baby mamas to conflicts with show promoters and law enforcement agencies.

In a statement released on Friday, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, condemned the reported attack on officials of the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority by individuals allegedly hired by the musician. The incident occurred on Wednesday in the Iyana-Ilogbo area of the state, where Portable owns a bar.

“We are deeply shocked by the unpleasant and uncivilized conduct of Portable in Iyana-Ilogbo, where he and a group of miscreants assaulted government officials carrying out their lawful duties,” the statement read.

Describing the attack as “bizarre and disgraceful,” Akinmade lamented the erosion of the *Omoluabi* ethos—values of respect and decency—among those involved.

He further stated that such acts of lawlessness would not be tolerated, emphasizing that the government is committed to upholding order and discipline in the state.

“Governor Dapo Abiodun strongly condemns this primitive and indecent act and reaffirms his commitment to justice and an egalitarian society. Anyone who violates the law, regardless of their social status or influence, will be held accountable,” the statement concluded.
