NTA secures Exclusive AFCON Broadcasting Rights After MultiChoice Declines
This announcement follows MultiChoice’s decision not to broadcast the tournament on their SuperSport platform.
The National Television Authority (NTA) revealed on Wednesday that it has obtained exclusive broadcasting rights for all 52 matches of the upcoming 2024 African Cup of Nations.
This announcement follows MultiChoice’s decision not to broadcast the tournament on their SuperSport platform.
NTA, in partnership with Afro Sports, has finalized a crucial memorandum of understanding to broadcast the exciting AFCON matches in Cote d’Ivoire.
MultiChoice confirmed last week that they were unable to secure the broadcasting rights for the 2024 AFCON but assured fans that the games would be available through partner broadcast stations on Free to Air channels.
The 2024 AFCON is scheduled to begin with the Group A match between host nation Ivory Coast and Guinea Bissau at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium, Abidjan, on January 13, 2024.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles, placed in Group A alongside Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea Bissau, will kick off their campaign against Equatorial Guinea at the same stadium on Sunday, January 14, at 2:00 pm.
The Super Eagles, aiming for their fourth AFCON title, reflect on their previous victories in Nigeria 1980, Tunisia 1994, and South Africa 2013.
