NLC, NUJ rejoice with Kwara Governor on 62 birthday

The Kwara State Councils of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) have rejoiced with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on the occasion of his 62 birthday.

The congratulatory messages were contained in two separate statements issued in Ilorin on Saturday.

In a statement, the state NLC Chairman, Comrade Issa Aliyu Ore, appreciated Governor AbdulRazaq for implementing national minimum wage for workers in the state in spite of the wobbly economy.

Ore promised that state workers would continue to be dedicated to duties to reciprocate this kind gesture of the state government.

On its part, the state council of NUJ noted that the Governor, in the last few years, has covered a major mileage in the political annals of the state with a number of positive stories to tell the Kwara populace.

In a statement, the state NUJ Chairman, Abdullateef ‘Lanre Ahmed and Secretary, Omotayo Ayanda, respectively said the union took delight in the transformational policy of the present administration that has among others modestly manifested in the state-owned media houses including Radio Kwara, Kwara State Television and The Herald Newspaper.

The union maintained that the Governor’s midas touch in Radio Kwara and Kwara State Television, which culminated in both stations transmitting 24-hours would remain indelible, just as it added that signature has also not elided The Herald Newspaper.

It prayed the Almighty Allah to widen Governor AbdulRazaq’s horizon, increase his wisdom and enable him with quality health, agility of the mind and longevity of life to realize his lofty programmes and legacy that outlive his administration.

“The NUJ is delighted that the Governor, in the last few years of his administration, has covered a major mileage in the political annals of the state with a number of positive stories to tell the Kwara populace.

“On our side as the media, we particularly take delight in the transformational policy of your administration that has among others modestly manifested in the state-owned media houses including Radio Kwara, Kwara State Television and The Herald Newspaper.

“Your midas touch in Radio Kwara and Kwara State Television, which culminated in both stations transmitting 24-hours would remain indelible. That signature has also not elided The Herald Newspaper, and this is quite heart warming”, the NUJ said.
