Nigerian youngster, Kazeem Olaigbe signs new contract with Southampton

Premier League side Southampton Fc have announced a new contract penned by Nigerian forward, Kazeem Olaigbe.
Olaigbe, who is the leading scorer for the Saints reserve team with thirteen goals in all competitions, was rewarded with a new deal following his stellar displays for Southampton B this season.
He arrived at Southampton in the summer of 2019 from Jupiler Pro League powerhouse Anderlecht,
On his new deal, Olaigbe said : “I feel very good, I’m very happy to have signed a new deal with the club.
“I can’t wait to start again and keep playing more games. We had a long conversation because there were also other clubs interested in me but I thought, for me, the best decision is to stay.
“The club has bought a lot of young players through to play with the first-team so I think I can prove myself and get a chance.”
Olaigbe was an unused substitute in Southampton’s 3-2 win over Swansea City in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup last month – his first and only call-up to the first team so far.
However, the new agreement will keep the 19-year-old at the St Mary’s Stadium until June 2024.
