The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania in Group C during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025, which will be held in Morocco.

The group stage draw took place on Monday at the Mohamed V National Theatre in Casablanca. Teams were divided into six groups of four, competing for spots in the knockout rounds.

The top two teams from each group will advance directly to the knockout stage, while the best four third-placed teams will also secure a place in the second round.

This will be the first encounter between Nigeria and Tunisia since the Carthage Eagles triumphed over Nigeria in the second round of the 2022 AFCON in Cameroon.

Nigeria’s last meeting with Uganda was in the 1978 AFCON semi-finals, where the Super Eagles were defeated 2-1. The Eagles, however, have a historic win over Tanzania, defeating them 3-1 in the opening match of their first-ever AFCON title run.

The 35th edition of AFCON is set to begin in Morocco on December 21, 2025, and will run until January 18, 2026.

The Super Eagles will aim to improve upon their runner-up finish at the 2024 edition in Côte d’Ivoire.
