NFF begins search for Super Eagles head coach
On March 1st, Jose Peseiro confirmed his departure as the head coach of Nigeria’s men’s senior national team.


The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has announced that the position of head coach for the Super Eagles is currently open.
On March 1st, Jose Peseiro confirmed his departure as the head coach of Nigeria’s men’s senior national team.
Having been appointed as the Eagles’ head coach in 2022, the Portuguese coach stated that his contract with the NFF had expired without a renewal agreement.
Peseiro’s departure follows shortly after leading Nigeria to a silver medal at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire.
Despite no official statement from the NFF following Peseiro’s announcement, the federation issued a statement on its website inviting applications from coaches interested in succeeding him.
The NFF outlined specific qualifications and experience required for the role, emphasizing the need for top-tier coaching qualifications, elite managerial experience, a winning track record, and preferably, knowledge of African football.
Prospective applicants are instructed to submit their applications via email to jobs@thenff.com before March 12th.
Additionally, the NFF declared the head coach position for the Golden Eaglets vacant, inviting interested candidates to apply.
