Neymar Returns to Santos on Six-Month Deal

Brazilian forward Neymar has signed a six-month contract with Santos, the club where he began his career. Santos vice-president Fernando Bonavides expressed hopes that Neymar would stay beyond the initial term, potentially until the 2026 World Cup.
The 32-year-old returns after an injury-hit spell at Saudi club Al Hilal, where he played just seven matches despite a reported $104 million salary. Neymar, Brazil’s all-time top scorer, suffered a cruciate ligament injury in October 2023, sidelining him for a year.
Presented to fans at Santos’ Estadio Urbano Caldeira, Neymar appeared delighted as he marked his homecoming with a grand ceremony featuring live music performances.
