Newcastle’s Tonali Banned 10 Months For Betting
The 23-year-old, who recently joined Newcastle in a record-breaking transfer, was found to have placed bets on matches related to his former club, AC Milan.

Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali, an Italian international midfielder, has been handed a 10-month ban by the Italian football federation (FIGC) due to his involvement in betting activities.
The 23-year-old, who recently joined Newcastle in a record-breaking transfer, was found to have placed bets on matches related to his former club, AC Milan.
This ban will see Tonali sidelined for the remainder of the Premier League season and potentially the upcoming European Championship, should Italy qualify.
He’s the second Italian player to face a ban in a betting scandal, following Juventus’ Nicolo Fagioli, who received a seven-month suspension and agreed to undergo therapy for gambling issues due to substantial debts.
Tonali’s agent has stated that he struggles with a gambling addiction, and he faced a potential three-year ban for his actions.
Newcastle’s manager, Eddie Howe, has expressed the club’s commitment to supporting Tonali during this challenging period.
