New Year : Kwara Central Senator, Saliu Mustapha Expresses Hope for a Prosperous Nigeria
Saliu, who chairs the Senate Committee on Agriculture Production Services and Rural Development shared this optimistic vision in his New Year message, which was made available to Sho Pen Online on Monday.
As we say goodbye to 2023, Senator Saliu Mustapha, the representative for Kwara Central at the National Assembly and Turaki of Ilorin, has expressed hope for a prosperous Nigeria.
Saliu, who chairs the Senate Committee on Agriculture Production Services and Rural Development shared this optimistic vision in his New Year message, which was made available to Sho Pen Online on Monday.
The message reads in full; “As we close the page on 2023, I acknowledge the difficulties many experienced due to economic challenges and policy adjustments. The new administration’s bold decision to remove fuel subsidy has had noticeable impacts on our economy and the citizens, and while well-intentioned, the effects are undeniably still being felt across the nation.
However, amidst the difficulties, let us commend the ongoing efforts by both the Federal and State Governments to provide relief and improve infrastructure.
The recent palliative measures and 50% reduction in transport fares are commendable steps towards easing the strain on families, enabling many to celebrate with loved ones during the festive season.
The year 2024 dawns with a gleam of renewed hope. Let’s anticipate positive outcomes from policy adjustments, including improved infrastructure and a brighter future for all. The “Renewed Hope” mantra of this administration requires a bold agenda addressing the root causes of our national challenges and building a more prosperous, secure, and equitable Nigeria.
I urge all members of the 10th National Assembly to rise to the challenges ahead with dedication and resilience. We, as Nigerians, are known for our intellectual prowess and unwavering determination. These qualities are vital to achieving our renewed hope for the Nigeria of our dreams.
The nation looks to us, the legislature, to guide the executive arm towards alleviating burdens and bringing succor. Let us join hands with all well-meaning Nigerians, both at home and abroad, to lift our nation back to its rightful place as a beacon of pride for the black world.
Let us go into the new year united in purpose and unwavering in our goal to regain our place as a prosperous nation and a leader among nations.”
