Ali Ndume, the chief whip of the upper legislative chamber, emphasized his greater experience in parliamentary matters compared to Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Speaking on the Channels Television program “Sunday Politics,” Ndume highlighted his initial election to the Senate in 2011, contrasting it with Akpabio’s election in 2015.

During a recent incident in the Senate where Ndume attempted to reference the rule book in managing a crisis and was ruled out of order by Akpabio, Ndume explained his concerns about the handling of the situation.

He expressed disappointment in the ruling and emphasized his campaign support for Akpabio in the past, stating, “You can’t build a house and destroy it.”

Ndume highlighted the issue as a matter of experience, suggesting that Akpabio should have invited him for a one-on-one discussion rather than overruling the chief whip during the Senate session.

Additionally, Ndume suggested that President Bola Tinubu should present a bill to the National Assembly addressing unexplained wealth, or in the interim, urged the current president to consider signing an executive order to tackle the issue, especially in light of concerns raised about corruption within the judiciary by retired Supreme Court Justice Musa Dattijo.
