Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Sworn in as Kogi Central’s First Female Senator
Her swearing-in marks a significant milestone as she becomes the first female Senator from Kogi State and the fourth female Senator in the 10th Upper Legislative Chamber.
Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has officially taken her oath as the Senator representing Kogi Central senatorial district in the Senate.
Her swearing-in marks a significant milestone as she becomes the first female Senator from Kogi State and the fourth female Senator in the 10th Upper Legislative Chamber.
Under the direction of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, the Senate clerk administered the oath to Akpoti-Uduaghan on the floor of the upper legislative chamber.
This swearing-in ceremony followed her reception of the Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), confirming her as the duly elected Senator for Kogi Central.
Earlier, the Court of Appeal affirmed Akpoti-Uduaghan as the victor in the Kogi central senatorial district election, upholding her win after the election petition tribunal nullified the initial result, citing irregularities favoring the opponent, and confirming her as the duly elected Senator.
